Union Academy’s Avery Wilson is The Charlotte Observer’s high school girls’ athlete of the week.
A sophomore softball player, Wilson tossed a complete-game, three hitter with 17 strikeouts to lead Union Academy to a 3-1 win over Anson County on Feb. 29.
Wilson also earned a RBI at the plate in the same game.
