It’s the penultimate episode of Talking Preps of the 2023-24 school year and here’s what’s on tap:
▪ Rick Lewis reveals his boys’ players of the week: Trent Steinour, Lake Norman; Jaydon Terrell, North Mecklenburg; Chadlyn Traylor, North Mecklenburg; Grant Hamilton, Weddington; Sir Mohammed, Myers Park. Mohammed, a Notre Dame recruit, joins us live in studio.
▪ Randall Clark reveals his girls’ players of the week: Alexis Shehan, Lake Norman; Elle Stone, Mallard Creek; Lenise Joseph, North Mecklenburg; Jerin Truesdale, Myers Park; and Independence’s Kaylee Carson. Carson, an East Tennessee State recruit, joins us live in studio.
▪ We’ll have an extensive preview of the NCHSAA third-round playoff games, east and west, Tuesday, plus a look ahead to Friday’s quarterfinals.
▪ Finally, on “Coach vs. Coach,” Gary Richmond and Clark debate whether NCHSAA playoff selection needs to mix its computer-based model with a human element; their biggest surprises of the season; and whether they are bothered by the NCHSAA hosting a state final at 1 p.m. on a Friday.
