Charlotte Latin’s Ny Green is The Observer’s girls’ high school athlete of the week

Charlotte Latin’s Ny Green is The Charlotte Observer’s girls’ athlete of the week for the week of April 12.

Green, a junior sprinter on the Hawks’ track team, clocked 13.91 seconds to win the 100-meter dash at Charlotte Christian on April 5.

Green also landed a personal-best 14 feet, 9 inches to win the long jump, and went 31-3 1/2 to finish as runner-up in the triple jump at the same meet.

The goal is to recognize all athletes in all sports, both the most accomplished and the underrated or underappreciated players.
