Dutch Fork of Irmo, SC, is the 2024 champion of the Carolinas Top 25 poll.

Unlike many polls, which rank the best teams in one state, the Carolinas Top 25 ranks the best teams in two, regardless of classification. The polls are sponsored by McClatchy-owned media companies in North and South Carolina.

The rankings are compiled by Chris Hughes, a longtime high school football expert and co-host of The Charlotte Observer’s streaming “Talking Preps” show

And Dutch Fork, which won the S.C. 5A Division I state championship, finished the season 13-0 and ends up No. 1 in the final poll. N.C. 4A state champion Grimsley High, from Greensboro, is No. 2.

Six of the top 10 teams were from North Carolina.
