Meet the 2024 All-Observer girls’ golf team, the best players in the Charlotte region
For the fourth straight year, Myers Park senior Elizabeth Rudisill is The Observer’s girl’s high school golfer of the year.
Rudisill finished second in the NCHSAA 4A state championship. She won the title in 2022 and was runner-up in 2021, 2023 and this fall.
Rudisill is the top-ranked senior in the country and is No. 4 among all junior golfers, according to the American Junior Golf Association. This season, the Vanderbilt recruit won the 4A West Regional title, where she shot a 6-under-66; the HV3 Invitational (68) and the SoMeck 4A conference title. She is averaging a score of 33.9 per nine holes this season.
Rudisill made the cut in an LPGA tournament at the TPC Boston in September. She also played for Team USA in the Junior Solheim Cup for the second straight year this fall.
Pine Lake Prep’s Todd Grear and South Point’s Steve Hudgins share The All-Observer team’s coach of the year.
Grear’s team won its second straight 2A state championship by 19 shots over the field.
Hudgins’ team won in 3A after junior Madison Pruden drained the state title-winning putt to beat Lake Norman Charter by a shot.
