North Lincoln’s Ally Smith is The Charlotte Observer’s high school athlete of the week

North Lincoln girls’ basketball player Ally Smith is The Observer’s high school athlete of the week.

Smith, a 5-foot-7 sophomore scored 30 points, had one rebound, four assists and four steals in a 70-33 win over T.C. Roberson in the semifinals of the Peoples Bank Holiday Tournament at Bandys on Dec. 27.

The next night, Smith scored 16 points to go with five rebounds, four assists and five steals in a 68-42 win over Bandys in the championship game.

Smith is averaging 19.3 points per game for a North Lincoln team (10-1) that has won 10 straight and plays at North Iredell (8-4) Tuesday night.
