Metrolina Christian’s Emily King is The Observer’s girls’ high school athlete of the week

Metrolina Christian basketball player Emily King is The Observer’s girls’ high school athlete of the week.

King, a 5-foot-8 senior guard, had a career-high 41 points, including five 3-point shots, to lead the Warriors to a 72-43 win over South Charlotte on Jan. 7.

King also scored 31 points in a 66-50 victory at the Greater Cabarrus Stallions on Jan. 9.

King is averaging 21.5 points per game for Metrolina Christian this season.
