Charlotte-area swimmers shine at NC Independent Schools Division I state championships
Several Observer-area stars shined at the N.C. Independent Schools’ Division state swimming championships this week in Greensboro.
Charlotte Latin’s Norvy Clontz won the boys’ 200 freestyle and swam on the winning 200 medley relay.
Providence Day’s Granger Bartee won the boys’ 100 freestyle and the 100 back. Bartee’s siser, Zetta Grace, won the girls’ 200 freestyle.
Charlotte Country Day’s Elle Scott won the girls’ 200 IM, the 100 breaststroke and swam on two winning relay teams. Teammate Caroline Mallard won the 100 yard butterfly and swam on two winning relay teams. Another Bucs star, junior Taylor Klein, won the 100 back and swam on a winning relay team.
