North Mecklenburg’s Chadlyn Traylor, Lake Norman’s Trent Steinour and Stuart Cramer’s Oshauna Holland have been named first-team all-state players by the N.C. Basketball Coaches Association.

They were among seven area players named to first, second or third teams.

Traylor, a 6-3 senior, led North Mecklenburg to its second consecutive 4A state championship and was named Most Outstanding Player in the title-game victory over New Hanover.

He is a Charleston commit who averaged 20 points and 6.5 assists per game this season.

Steinour, a 6-10 senior who has committed to Clemson, averaged 17.5 points and 12.3 rebounds a game for Lake Norman.

Holland, a 5-8 junior, averaged 28.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 5.3 steals per game for a Stuart Cramer team that reached the 3A state championship game.

Reidsville’s Dionte Neal was named boys’ Player of the Year, with West Bladen’s Travis Pait receiving Coach of the Year honors.

The girls’ Player of the Year was Watauga’s Kate Sears, with McDowell’s Zack McCartha named Coach of the Year.

Two area players received second-team all-state honors — L.J. Smith of Lincolnton and Lenise Joseph of North Mecklenburg. Smith and Joseph were two of only three sophomores named all-staters.

Named to the third team were Tarris Bouie III (Chambers) and K.J. Younger (Weddington).
