Seven new teams join the N.C. statewide high school baseball rankings this week.

The rankings are sponsored by The Charlotte Observer and the News & Observer of Raleigh. They are compiled by longtime N.C. high school sports expert Alex Bass, a co-host of The Observer’s streaming “Talking Preps” show.

Three of the new teams are in the 4A poll: No. 7 Marvin Ridge (15-6), No. 9 Cuthbertson (18-3) and No. 10 Hough (14-4). Marvin Ridge and Cuthbertson are from Union County. Hough is in Mecklenburg.

West Rowan (19-3) is the lone new team in the 3A rankings. The Falcons, from Mt. Ulla, have won 10 straight games.

Two new teams join the 2A poll: No. 8 Princeton (12-5) and No. 10 Camden (13-5).
