As many teams head to conference tournament play, there is just one new team in the N.C. high school baseball polls this week.

Cleveland County power Crest joins the 3A poll.

The Chargers (17-4) have won eight straight games, a run that includes three shutouts.

The polls are sponsored by The Charlotte Observer and News & Observer of Raleigh. They are compiled by longtime N.C. high school baseball expert Alex Bass, a co-host of The Observer’s “Talking Preps” streaming show.
