Two big prep scrimmages in Charlotte area Friday, Saturday

There are two multi-team scrimmages in Mecklenburg County Friday and Saturday.

Friday at 4:30 p.m., the fifth annual CarolinaPreps Jamboree begins at Rocky River High School. There will be five games played. Each game will last two quarters. Admission is $2.

The schedule: Cuthbertson vs. North Rowan, 4:30 p.m; Statesville vs. Hickory Ridge, 5:30 p.m.; Hopewell vs. Cox Mill, 6:30 p.m.; Ardrey Kell vs. West Rowan, 7:30; Mallard Creek vs. Rocky River, 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, West Mecklenburg will host a multi-team scrimmage Saturday.

At 6 p.m., West Mecklenburg will play Fairfield Central (S.C.). At 7, Lancaster will play Hough; And at 8, Hillcrest will face Independence. Admission is $2.

-- Providence Day will host Hammond (S.C.) in a two-team scrimmage Friday at 6.
