Union County champion.

Why Her?: King is one of the best long distance runners in cross country, outdoor and indoor track and now looks to add another state championship to her resume this fall.

Charlotte Observer Girls Runners To Watch

Brittany Stanley, Mount Pleasant, Sr.: Tigers star is a legitimate state title contender in ‘15.

Kiley Aymor, Ardrey Kell, Jr.: SoMeck8 conference runner-up also finished 6th at 4A West Regionals, forms dynamic duo with sophomore, teammate, Josie Jordan.

Holly Bailey, Lake Norman, Jr.: North Piedmont conference champion finished 11th at 4A West Regionals.

Kayla Glova, Providence, Sr.: Panther senior looks to be the next in long line of Providence greats after taking 4th at SoMeck8 conference championships, 8th at 4A West Regionals last year.

Frances Massey, East Lincoln, Jr.: 2A West Regional champion now looks to contend at states.

Charlotte Observer Girls Cross-Country Teams To Watch

Myers Park: Reigning 4A Western Regional champion loaded with talent, led by juniors, Kate Eiselt and Story Gourley, senior Sydney Farris.

Providence: 4A West Regional runner-up also has top talent to back in seniors in Glova and Claire Strickler and junior, Lindsay Lanier.

Marvin Ridge: The Mavericks are eager to add a 3A state title to their resume and have an experienced team

Ardrey Kell: With Aymor and Jordan at the top of the lineup will be one of the top teams in the state (4A).

Lake Norman: Wildcats also have a strong lineup with Bailey and classmate, Melissa Zammitti leading the way.
