Charlotte Observer Boys’ Soccer Teams to Watch

Hough: Husky coach, David Smith, says “this is the deepest team he’s had,” which should bode

well for a team looks to build off a 22-win season, 4A state semifinal run last year.

South Mecklenburg: The Sabres have the experience and talent – led by seniors, Marco Garcia,

Brad Scharf, to challenge for a SoMeck8 conference title and make a deep playoff run.

Lake Norman: With eight starters and 16 senior returning to a Wildcat team that won 20 games

in 2014, Lake Norman feels good about their chances to go deep in the postseason this year.

Providence: Coach Nathan Williams took his Panther girls’ team to the 4A state championship

game, look to have similar success in first year with the boys.

Myers Park: The Mustangs haven’t played up to their lofty standards in the last few years, but

Coach Bucky McCarley says he has a good feeling about his 2015 team.
