2014 Stats: 3A West Regional champion, Southern Carolinas conference and Union County runner-up, 3rd at 3A state meet.
Why Him?: Resor has proven he is one of the best distance runners on the state and is on the verge of doubling as 3A state individual and team champion.
Charlotte Observer Boys Runners To Watch
Alex Cornwell, Hickory Ridge, Sr.: On the short list with Resor as a favorite to contend for 3A individual state title.
Jack Ratterree, Charlotte Latin, Sr.: Hawks
No. 1 was third at CISAA conference, 7th at states, will be amongst favorites to win it all as senior
Chris Smith, Myers Park, Sr.: Finished strong as a junior including a 3rd-place finish at 4A West Regionals, should be state contender as senior.
Austin Hilburn, North Lincoln, Jr.: North Piedmont conference (NPC) runner-up also finished 6th at 3A Midwest Regionals, looks to contend at states.
Noah Dolhare, Providence Day, So.: Set a Providence Day freshman record, running 16:16.84, now will look to lead the Chargers to a 6th straight state title.
Charlotte Observer Boys Teams To Watch
Weddington: The Warriors are ready to contend for 3A team title on a team loaded with proven talent from Resor to Matthew Conner to Colton Jordan to Alex Hazan and more.
Providence: The Panthers also feel they be in the mix for a conference, regional and state bragging rights, led by twin brothers Logan and Tanner Sutter.
Providence Day: The five-time, defending state champion Chargers will have to reload this season, but there’s
little doubt Coach Hovis will find a way to contend again with young talent like Noah Dolhare back in the lineup.
North Lincoln: The Knights have consistently proven to be one of the top, 2A teams in the state, and have the talent, led by Hillburn, to do it again.
Lake Norman: Wildcats have proven they can be a top 10-type team in recent years and look to do so again with senior Jack Mastandrea leading the charge.
