Tuesday’s girls’ rewind: Butler routs Olympic at home, improves record to 2-2

Butler High senior guard Hannah Moss scored all 20 of her points in the first three quarters as the Bulldogs routed Olympic, 63-31, at home Tuesday.

Butler evened its record at 2-2.

The Bulldogs led 17-8 after the first quarter and 29-16 at halftime.

Emerie Heglund added 11 points and Joy Park 10 for Butler while Chaya James had 17 points for Olympic (1-3).

Tuesday’s #BIG5 girls’ top performers

NyKira Arrington, South Mecklenburg: Arrington had a triple-double in a 63-48 win over Weddington: 12 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals.

Za’Miya Bynum, Queen’s Grant: In a 52-35 win over Jackson Day in a battle of conference championship contenders, Bynum had 13 points, seven steals, six rebounds, five assists and two blocks.

Jakaila Gaskin, Cannon School: Gaskin had a game-high 32 points in a 63-48 win over the N.C. Good Better Best national team.

Myajah Nix, Central Cabarrus: In a 57-12 win over Hopewell, Nix had 19 points and 15 rebounds.

Ashanti Taylor, Porter Ridge: Taylor had a game-high 22 points as Porter Ridge, No. 4 in The Observer’s Sweet 16, held off No. 16 Hough.
