Which are the top girls’ basketball teams in NC? Check our statewide rankings

High school holiday tournaments are about to begin, which means teams from North Carolina are going to be playing games throughout the state — and many others.

Here is a look at the state’s top teams through games played Dec. 17.

This is the final poll of 2025. The rankings will return in January.

Note: The rankings are sponsored by The Charlotte Observer and News & Observer of Raleigh. They are compiled by longtime N.C. basketball expert Randall Clark, a co-host of The Observer’s streaming Talking Preps show.
