Stuart Cramer High’s baseball team, from Gaston County, is off to an 8-0 start, and the Storm joins The Charlotte Observer’s Sweet 16 baseball poll this week.

The Sweet 16, compiled by longtime high school baseball expert Tripp Roakes, ranks the top teams in the media company’s coverage area. That coverage area currently includes state-sanctioned teams from Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln and Union counties.

Stuart Cramer, which plays at Burns on Tuesday, is outscoring opponents 90-15 and has two shutouts this season.
