NC playoff update: Myers Park, Hough girls’ soccer teams advance to state semifinals
The girls’ soccer teams from Myers Park and Hough turned in a couple of powerhouse performances to advance to the NCHSAA 8A Western Regional championship game Monday night.
Myers Park jumped out to an early three-goal lead and routed Northwest Guilford, 6-1. Hough shut out N.C. power Ardrey Kell, 4-0.
Thursday night, Hough (23-3) will host Myers Park (18-2-3) in a game to determine a state finalist.
Myers Park won its 10th straight game Monday at home. Hough avenged a 1-0 loss to Ardrey Kell in March and won its third straight game, all by shutout.
The Huskies have shut out seven of their past nine opponents.
Myers Park and Hough met on May 1, and Myers Park won, 2-1.
