Charlotte-Area High School Football Players of the Week

Cody Reece, Mount Pleasant: Ran 51 times for 286 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-24 win over Cox Mill. Mount Pleasant coach Mike Johns won his 100th game on a night when Reece had the fourth-most carries by a N.C. player in a single game. The record is 57, set by St. Paul’s Bernard Williams in 2007.

Izayah Cole, West Charlotte: Helped give coach Darren Hart his first win against rival Harding on Friday. Cole was 8-for-13 passing for 191 yards and three scores. He had 219 yards total offense and four total touchdowns.

Cade Carney, Davidson Day: Ran for a school-record 265 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in a 41-14 win over Providence Day. Carney averaged 12 yards per carry.

Tyshawn Carter, Rocky River: Led his team to a wild 46-39 win over Sun Valley Friday. Carter was 20-of-29 passing for 173 yards and three scores. He ran 22 times for 184 yards.

Bryce Maginley, Ardrey Kell: Knights QB was 8-for-16 for 172 yards and four scores in a 56-12 win over Marvin Ridge. He ran six times for 89 yards and two scores.
