Aish Sharma, Charlotte Country Day girls’ golf: Shot a 42 to win medalist honors in a two-team match with High Point’s Wesleyan Christian over nine holes covering 2,811 yards at Cedarwood Country Club. Country Day (3-11) won the match 141-154.

Wednesday’s Roundup

South Meck soccer 9, West Meck 0: Led by three goals and an assist from Marco Garcia, South Mecklenburg’s boys’ soccer team remained unbeaten with a 9-0 win over West Mecklenburg.

Reed Hunnicut had two goals and one assist for the Sabres (14-0-1, 9-0 Southwestern 4A). Dylan Rice and Harish Amatya shared the shutout.

Mallard Creek soccer 5, Hough 3: Mallard Creek pulled off a big upset in MECKA 8 conference play. The Mavericks (7-10-1, 6-1) won their third straight game and pulled into a first-place tie with Hough (12-2-2, 6-1).

Lake Norman Charter volleyball 3, Ashbrook 1: Lauren Gedney had 13 skills and Sabrina Pinard 12 to lead Lake Norman Charter (14-5, 11-2 Big South). Lake Norman Charter will finish regular-season play Monday against North Gaston on Senior Night.

Ardrey Kell soccer 9, Harding 0: Justin Brown recorded his seventh shutout of the season, and Zain Blackwood had two goals as the Knights (11-5-3, 8-2 SoMeck 8) won easily. Harding fell to 0-11, 0-9.

Central Academy soccer 1, Monroe 0: Central Academy’s Jay Niessner won his 100th match as a coach at the school. Trevor Weimer had the goal for Central off an assist from Roberto Fleming. Brandon Melchor, who had eight saves, earned the shutout for Central Academy (9-6-4, 5-1). Monroe fell to 10-6, 4-2.

Southwestern 4A tennis: Myers Park’s Leah Wallihan and Aubrey Bader defeated teammates Katie and Gaby Soden 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 to win the conference doubles title. Myers Park’s Maddie Weber beat teammate Emily Holderness 6-0, 6-1 to win in singles. Results below.

Providence Day field hockey 5, Ardrey Kell 0: Abbey Anne Briggs recorded the shutout for the Chargers, who had goals from Lily Norris, Celine Ives, Sara Cotsakis, Danille Kapustin and Hannah Scully.

Lincoln Charter soccer 2, Community School of Davidson 1: Lincoln Charter handed Community School (15-1-1, 8-1) its first loss of the season. Jason Coggins had the score for CSD.
