Belmont South Point moves into Observer’s Sweet 16 football rankings
Belmont’s South Point High is back in the Observer’s Sweet 16 poll.
The Red Raiders began the season with two losses in three weeks – to unbeatens Crest and Shelby. Since then, South Point has won five games in a row, including Friday’s 34-7 win at Forestview.
▪ Charlotte Catholic is No. 1 for the second week. The Cougars, who fended off South Meck 10-7 on the road Friday, moved to No. 1 for the first time in school history last week.
▪ Hough moved up to No. 3 after beating A.L. Brown 21-7 on the road.
