Nov. 11: Observer begins class-by-class previews of area teams, players

Nov. 15: Observer ends two weeks of preseason previews with Sweet 16 No. 1s announced

Nov. 16: First playing date

Feb. 16: Start of NCISAA playoffs

Feb. 20: NCISAA state finals at Raleigh Ravenscroft

Feb. 23: Start of NCHSAA playoffs

March 5: NCHSAA regionals (the old week-long regional format has ended)

March 12: State finals

NCHSAA Boys: Garner (4A), Fayetteville Sanford (3A), Kinston (2A), East Carteret (1A)

NCHSAA Girls: Myers Park (4A), Hickory (3A), Wilkes Central (2A), Winston-Salem Prep (1A)

NCISAA Boys: Burlington School (1A); Concord First Assembly (2A); Greensboro Day (3A)

NCISAA Girls: Fayetteville Trinity Christian (1A); Carolina Day (2A); Providence Day (3A)
