Boys’ No. 13:

Charlotte Catholic Cougars

Head Coach: Mike King (eighth season as Charlotte Catholic head coach)

2014-15 Notes: Finished 18-8 overall, placing third in the SoMeck8 conference (8-6); Lost in the first round of 4A playoffs to North Mecklenburg, 83-61.

Returning Starters: Josh Brodowicz (5-8, G, Sr.); Jack Larkin (6-0, G, Sr.); Owen Winters (6-2, G, Sr.); Justin McKinstry (6-3, F, Sr.); Jimmy Abate (6-4, F, Sr.)

Key Newcomers: B.J. Mack (6-7, PF, Fr.); Trey Kloiber (6-0, G, Jr.); Brady Berger (6-0, G, Jr.)

Why Them?: The Cougars return nine seniors, led by point guard, Josh Brodowicz, but also should benefit from the emergence of promising, 6-foot-7, 240-pound freshman forward, B.J. Mack. That combination of experience and talent should allow them to contend in the brutal, SoMeck8 conference and deeper into the postseason.
