Sweet 16 boys’ basketball countdown: No. 3 Butler
No. 32 Butler Bulldogs
Coach: Myron Lowery (2nd year as Butler head coach)
2014-15 Notes: Finished 23-4, including 11-1 in the Southwestern 4A to win the title; Lost 67-66 to Myers Park in the third round of the 4A state playoffs.
Returning Starters: Raequan Scott (5-9, G, Sr.); Orlando Robinson (5-11, PG, Sr.); Jah’lil Carter (6-5, C/F, Jr.); Austin Griffin (6-2, F, Sr.)
Key Newcomer: Zane Rankin (6-3, G, Jr.)
Why Them?: The Bulldogs were one of the hottest teams in the state, winning 17 straight at one point last season, including 22 of their final 24 games. With their electric backcourt in Scott (20.9 ppg) and Robinson (16 ppg) back to lead the way, they should be a 4A state title contender.
