NCHSAA Soccer Update: A Mecklenburg County quarterfinal party

A Mecklenburg County team is going to the N.C. 4A state championship game.

There are eight teams left in the 4A playoffs, four in the east and four in the west. All four western teams are from Mecklenburg County.

In Saturday’s quarterfinals, Hough plays nationally ranked South Meck at Ramblewood Park at 7 p.m. In the other west quarterfinal, Myers Park is at Providence at 7 p.m.

The winners will play in the state semifinals next week.

▪ In 3A, Weddington is at Ashbrook, and Cox Mill at Asheville Saturday.

▪ In 2A, Hendersonville is at Salisbury, and Trinity is at Newton-Conover.

▪ In 1A, Highland Tech is at Community School of Davidson, and Mount Airy is at Starmount.
