↑Rock Hill girls: Bearcats, No. 10 in the Observer’s Sweet 16, beat reigning S.C. 3A state champ Lancaster 53-52 Tuesday, ending Lancaster’s 30-game win streak. RiKoya Anderson had 18 for Rock Hill (2-0).
↑Providence: Upset No. 13 Hough 50-46 Wednesday at home to earn first win of the year. Grady Moore had 13 to lead the Panthers (1-3). Sophomore Cooper Crawford had 16 for Hough (3-2).

No. 8 Charlotte Catholic 68, No. 7 Butler 61: Josh Brodowicz had 15 points, BJ Mack 13 and Jimmy Abate and Owen Winters had 11 each for the Cougars in the close win. Catholic led by 12 heading into the fourth quarter and held off a Butler rally, pushed by Zane Rankin (21 points) and Orlando Robison (10).
Butler 25, No. 14 Charlotte Catholic girls 24: Butler took down its second straight Sweet 16 team behind 10 points from star point guard Fairen Sutton, who scored her 1,000th career point last week. Sutton and Butler beat No. 9 Hough Tuesday.
Weddington 57, Garinger 45: Ryan Schieger had 19 points to lead Weddington (5-1), which outscored Garinger 29-15 in the second half to win. Rayshawn Neal had 24 for the Wildcats (4-2).
Porter Ridge 57, Parkwood 51: Noah Taylor had 18 points and AJ Gallagher 14 for Porter Ridge (12). The teams were tied going into the fourth quarter. Alex Capps had 24 for Parkwood (0-4).
Charlotte Country Day 65, Queens Grant 53: Gordon Cory had 22 points in the win for Country Day (3-3). Rylan McLaurin had eight points, nine assists and eight steals. Queens Grant got 10 points from 6-9 Columbia signee Patrick Tape’.
