Observer’s Sweet 16 football poll 12.07.15
Six of the top 10 teams in the Observer’s Sweet 16 will play for N.C. and S.C. state championships Saturday.
In North Carolina, No. 1 Charlotte Catholic (4A), No. 3 Mallard Creek (4AA), Monroe (2AA) and South Point (3A) are in finals Saturday. In South Carolina, No. 2 Rock Hill Northwestern (4A), and No. 4 Rock Hill South Pointe (3A) are in the championship round.
The top four spots remained the same, but Monroe jumped from No. 10 to No. 7 after Friday’s 46-6 win against East Lincoln in the N.C. 2AA semifinals. Also making a big move was South Point, from Belmont, which jumped from No. 12 to No. 8 after beating Kings Mountain in the 3A semis.
