All-Observer Field Hockey team
Charlotte Latin coach Deb Savino is the Charlotte Observer field hockey coach of the year for her efforts in leading Latin to 14-3 record this season.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Country Day senior Kathryn Holland is the Charlotte Observer field hockey player of the year after a record-breaking season.
Holland, a University of North Carolina field hockey signee, scored a school-record 31 goals this season, also eclipsing the school-mark for goals in a career with 64.
Holland was an all-state and all-South region pick with eight game-winning goals this season.
Attackers
Kathryn Holland, Charlotte Country Day, Sr.: University of North Carolina signee, all-state attacker had a single season, school-record 31 goals this season.
Camille Kane, Charlotte Latin, Jr.: University of Virginia commit, all-South Region, all-state pick led Latin with 18 goals, 17 assists.
Anna Rhyne, Charlotte Country Day, Sr.: All-state attacker had 14 goals, including five game-winners.
Megan Frost, Myers Park, Fr.: All-state Mustang freshman tied the single-season, school-record with 13 goals, also had 17 assists.
Midfielders
Isabelle Sumichrast, Charlotte Latin, Jr.: Two-time all-state and all-South region pick, a major force on offense and defense with six goals, six assists this season.
Cecilia Monnin, Charlotte Latin, So.: Another all-state, Hawk that helped control the midfield, adding five goals.
Blair Boyles, Charlotte Country Day, Jr.: Bucs’ all-state pick was big both ways with 59 takeaways, 56 intercepts, also two goals, four assists.
Hannah Scully, Providence Day, Sr.: All-state performer a force in the midfield, also chipped in four goals.
Grayson Buben, Providence Day, So.: Another all-state, Charger playmaker with six assists and six goals, including five-game winning scores.
Carter Norvell, Charlotte Catholic, Sr.: Two-time all-conference pick, three-year starter, team captain led Catholic with eight goals, six assists.
Defenders/ Midfielders
Celine Ives, Providence Day, Sr.: All-state midfielder was big both ways with a team-best eight goals, seven assists and played strong defense.
Brooke Whipkey, Ardrey Kell, Jr.: All-state, all-conference pick, team captain led Knights.
Defenders
Ali Gakenheimer, Charlotte Country Day, Sr.: All-state defender has the size (6-foot-2), talent that make her a difficult matchup, had five goals, 11 assists, 78 intercepts.
Lawson Park, Charlotte Country Day, So.: All-conference pick was big key in back for Bucs, starting every game as a sophomore for a unit that surrendered eight goals all season.
Woodson Dudley, Myers Park, Sr.: 2nd-team, all-state pick anchors Mustang defense, a big key to NCFHA state runner-up finish.
Abby Scully, Providence Day, Jr.: All-state selection a big key in the center of the Charger defense.
Chloe Appleby, Providence Day, So.: All-conference pick also had two goals, two assists.
Sabrina Brewer, Charlotte Latin, Jr.: All-conference defender big part of a Latin team that allowed eight goals all season, recording 12 shutouts.
Goalkeeper
Corbett Foster, Charlotte Latin, Jr.: All-state goalkeeper had 51 saves, stopping 86 percent of the shots on goal.
