West Charlotte at North Mecklenburg, Wednesday: Time Warner will broadcast this rivalry statewide on TWC SportsChannel. Coverage will begin with the girls’ game at 6 p.m.

South Piedmont 3A: Three boys’ teams ranked in the Observer’s Sweet 16: No. 4 Concord, No. 5 Concord Robinson and No. 12 Cox Mill.

Mallard Creek girls: Mavericks (17-1, 6-0 MECKA 4A), No. 2 in the Sweet 16, have won five straight.

Monday’s key game

Covenant Day at Providence Day, 5 p.m.: The No. 1 Chargers girls (17-2, 3-0 CISAA) lead Charlotte Christian (12-6, 2-1), Charlotte Latin (13-5, 2-1) and Covenant Day (12-5, 2-1) by one game. Covenant Day has won two straight and hunts a big upset. The No. 1 Chargers boys (20-3, 3-0) have won 10 straight and lead the CISAA by one game over Cannon, Charlotte Latin and Covenant Day (11-5, 2-1), which looks to spring a big upset.

Note: With most public school systems out of school, most games will be postponed.
