NCHSAA dual-team wrestling finals set

The N.C. Dual-Team wrestling state championship pairings are set.

No Observer-area team reached the championship round.

In Thursday’s rounds, Lake Norman beat A.L. Brown in a 4A quarterfinal, but fell 39-36 to West Forsyth in the regional championship.

West Forsyth (49-0) will host Holly Springs (40-4) in Saturday’s state final.

In 3A, Piedmont beat Fred T. Foard 30-28 in the third round Thursday but fell to Enka in the regional round.

Enka (34-2) will wrestle at Eden Morehead (18-0) in Saturday’s state final.

In 2A, Dixon (24-5) will at Newton-Conover (43-2) in Saturday’s final, and in 1A, Mitchell (22-7) is at Rosewood (41-6).
