N.C. private school all-star basketball game at Providence Day March 5
Some of the state’s top senior private school boys and girls high school basketball players will play at Providence Day School Saturday March 5.
BSN Sports and Badger Sport are title sponsors for the annual N.C. Private School All-Star Basketball game. Head private school coaches and athletics directors nominated more than 120 players for the game. The final rosters were picked by a selection committee.
The game will be broadcast live on Time Warner Cable Sports Channel.
The boy’s game will feature eight players that have already signed scholarships to play college basketball next season. Shonn Brown (Charlotte Christian) and Kevin Billerman (Ravenscroft School) are both state championship coaches that bring over 50 combined years of coaching at the high school and college levels to this year’s game.
The girl’s game features five players who have signed with colleges. Josh Springer (Providence Day) and Kevin Dennison (Fayetteville Academy) have won multiple state titles between them and will be coaching in the game this year.
The girl’s game will start at 1 pm followed by the boys’ game. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for students, and children under the age of 8 will be admitted for free.
In addition to the game, all players and coaches will participate in a community service project on the afternoon of Friday, March 4th in the Charlotte community.
