Ken Alexander, Carmel Christian baseball: 3-for-3 with two doubles in a 19-2 win over Victory Christian. Jim Lynch was 3-for-4 with a triple.
Will DeYoe, Lincoln Charter baseball: Led team to an 11-1 win in five innings over Bessemer City. He had three strikeouts and three a complege game. Nick Roser got his fourth home run in eight games.
Carrie Eberle, Charlotte Catholic softball: Improved to 8-1 as a pitcher with a 12-0 win over West Meck. Eberle allowed no hit and struck out 11. She was 2-for-3 from the late with two home runs and three RBIs. Teammate Maddy Hanson was 3-for-3 with a double, two triples and three RBIs. Catholic is 8-1.
Ashlyn Freeman, Gaston Christian softball: two hits, a double and three RBIs in a 12-2 win over First Assembly Christian. Gaston Christian is 5-4 and plays at Salisbury’s North Hills Christian Thursday.
Abby Givens, Olivia Hollidge, Myers Park girls soccer: two goals each in a 9-0 win over Independnce (6-4, 1-1 Southwestern 4A). Myers Park (4-1-2, 3-0) had two goalies share the shutout -- Abby Britt and Corey Choka.
Samantha Hager, Lake Norman softball: 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI in an 11-1 win over North Iredell.
McKenzy Long, Nicole Scovatto, East Meck girls soccer: two goals each in a 9-0 win over Garinger. Kylie Hackett and Lauren Shea shared the shutout.
Dean Looney, Kobe Phillips, Luke Novak, Butler: Each player had two hits, including a double in Tuesday’s 7-2 win over Porter Ridge. Butler is 10-0, 5-0 in Southwestern 4A play.
Maria Martucci, Lake Norman Charter softball: 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs in a 10-0 win over Hunter Huss. Lake Norman Charter is 7-1, 4-0 Big South 2A/3A.
Alex Shirzai, Myers Park baseball: Threw 85-pitch complete game in a 4-0 win over Independence. He struck out three and walked three.
Grace Wasulko, Weddington girls lacrosse: five goals in a 20-4 win over South Meck. Teammate Emily Shermansky had three goals and two assists.
Susan Wilkerson, Gaston Day girls soccer: Earned her fourth shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over SouthLake Christian. Gaston Day (4-3-1, 2-0) got two goals from McKailey Boston.

Ardrey Kell at Lake Norman girls lacrosse, Wed, 7 p.m.: Lake Norman (7-1, 3-0 Conference 11) hosts Ardrey Kell (8-0, 3-0) in a huge conference matchup. Lake Norman is No. 2 in the LaxPower state rankings. Ardrey Kell is No. 9.
N.C. Elite Guard Showcase, Saturday, Providence Day School: A collection of some of the top high school boys basketball guards in the state will participate in the NC Preps Elite Guard Camp. The players will go through a series of drills to begin the camp at 9 a.m. and will play games beginning at 10:30 a.m. There will be an elite all-star game at 4:30 p.m. for the top performers. Admission is $5. Kids under 10 and disabled patrons are free.
A strong staff of high school coaches will work with campers including N.C. 4A state champ Mike King of Charlotte Catholic, former state champ Andy Poplin of Vance and three-time private school champ Byron Dinkins of Northside Christian. Former UNC Tar Heel and longtime NBA pro Jeff McInnis will be guest speaker.
