↔Bo Brickels, Concord boys basketball: Brickels, Concord’s coach from 1986-94, passed away Thursday night. This season, Concord dedicated its court to its former coach. Brickels was Davidson College head coach from 1974-76.

Zach Brown, Providence baseball: threw six innings, allowed five hits in a 11-0 win overe Myers Park Thursday. He was 2-for-4 from the plate with an RBI.
Will Frye, Marvin Ridge boys golf: Frye, a sophomore, shot a 6-under 30 that included a hole-in-one on No. 2 this week at a Southern Carolina conference match at Monroe Country Club.
Mary Elliott McCabe, Charlotte Latin girls soccer: two goals in a 3-0 win over Cannon Thursday. Claudia Dickey and Ruthie Jones shared the shutout.
Timmy Jones, Cannon boys lacrosse: three goals in a 9-8 win over private school power Charlotte Latin Thursday. Joe Gitlin had four goals and an assist for the Hawks.
