The Ironmen beat Whiteville 2-0 in a best-of-3 state championship series Friday and Saturday, polishing off their first title since 2008 with a 7-4 win Saturday at Five County Stadium in Zebulon.
Cherryville’s Noah Eaker hit 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs in Saturday’s win.
Down 4-3 at the start of the fourth inning, Cherryville scored four straight wins to polish off the win.
