Charlotte-Area High School Football Roundup 11.14.15
Elevator
↓ A.L. Brown: Lost 50-42 to Winston-Salem Reagan to finish the season 6-6. It’s the first time since 1977 that Brown didn’t finish with a winning record.
↑ Hough: Beat West Forsyth 45-17 to get its first playoff win in school history.
↑ Charlotte Christian: Beat rival Charlotte Latin to earn a N.C. Independent Schools state title 3-peat. Last large-class private team to win three times in a row? Latin 2005-07.
↑ Independence defense: Got seventh shutout of the season in Friday’s 35-0 win over Olympic. Pats QB Kelvin Hopkins threw for 132 yards and a score.
↓ Butler at Mallard Creek II: Love to see a replay of the Bulldogs’ controversial 28-27 win over Mallard Creek from Aug. 29, but not in the second round of the playoffs next week. That’s a quarterfinal or semifinal matchup.
