Concord football star Hamsah Nasirildeen commits to South Carolina
Concord High defensive back Hamsah Nasirildeen has committed to South Carolina, per a report from national recruiting site rivals.com
Nasirildeen, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound senior, had offers from schools like Alabama, Florida State and Florida. He is considered a four-star (out of five) college recruit. Rivals ranks him among the nation’s top 150 recruits regardless of position. He is the No. 3 recruit in the Charlotte Observer’s top 25 in North Carolina.
Selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American bowl in January, a game for the nation’s top seniors, Nasirildeen had a terrific junior season. He had 35 catches for 634 yards and two touchdowns on offense. He had 82 tackles, four interceptions on defense and was an all-conference pick in the South Piedmont 3A.
Nasirildeen and Concord begin the season Thursday night at home against arch rival A.L. Brown in the annual Bell Game.
