Nicky Delmonico tripled, doubled and singled, driving home two runs as the Charlotte Knights beat the Louisville Bats 7-4 on Thursday.
Danny Hayes homered and singled with three RBIs for Charlotte in the first of a four-game series.
Down 1-0, the Knights took the lead for good with five runs in the third inning. The Knights sent 10 men to the plate as Hayes hit a three-run home run and Jacob May hit a solo home run en route to the four-run lead.

The Knights added to their lead in the sixth when Delmonico hit a two-run single.
Charlotte right-hander Reynaldo Lopez (4-1) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing three runs on eight hits over six innings. Opposing starter Rob Wooten (1-3) took the loss in the International League game after allowing four runs and six hits over two innings. Brad Goldberg recorded his second save of the season.
Brandon Dixon homered and doubled for the Bats. Rob Brantly doubled and singled twice.
