Charlotte Knights give up seven runs in ninth, fall to Buffalo Bisons on Saturday

The Buffalo Bisons scored seven runs in the top of the ninth inning and beat the Charlotte Knights 12-7 on Saturday.

Roemon Fields, Rowdy Tellez and Ian Parmley each had four hits for Buffalo.

Fields was a home run short of the cycle, scoring two runs. Tellez doubled and singled three times, driving in four runs.

Charlotte took a 6-5 lead in the fifth after Danny Hayes and Cody Asche hit back-to-back grand slam and solo home runs.

Buffalo ralled in the ninth inning; the Bisons sent 11 men to the plate as Tellez hit a two-run single en route to the six-run lead.

Chris Smith (1-0) got the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief while Zack Burdi (0-3) took the loss in the International League game.

Asche homered, doubled and singled, scoring two runs for the Knights. Yoan Moncada tripled and doubled, scoring two runs.
