Matt Tuiasosopo hit a solo home run in the seventh inning, and Lucas Sims allowed just three hits over eight innings as the Gwinnett Braves topped the Charlotte Knights 9-0 on Saturday.
The home run by Tuiasosopo started the scoring in a three-run inning and broke a scoreless tie. Later in the inning, Braeden Schlehuber and Jace Peterson hit RBI singles.
The Braves later scored six runs in the eighth to finish off the blowout.
Sims (5-3) struck out seven and walked two to pick up the win.
Lucas Giolito (2-6) went 6 2/3 innings, allowing three runs and six hits in the International League game. He also struck out five and walked four.
The Knights were held off the scoreboard for the sixth time this season, while the Braves' staff recorded their fourth shutout of the year.
