Jacob May's single leads Charlotte Knights past Gwinnett Braves
Jacob May hit an RBI single in the top of the ninth inning to lead the Charlotte Knights to a 4-3 win over the Gwinnett Braves in the second game of a doubleheader on Wednesday.
Yoan Moncada scored the go-ahead run on the single after he reached base on a walk and stole second.

Gwinnett had runners on first and third in the bottom of the ninth, but Jace Peterson grounded out to end the game.
Reliever Brad Goldberg (3-1) went two scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out two and walking two to get the win. Rhiner Cruz (1-3) went 1 1/3 innings, allowing one run and one hit in the International League game. He also struck out one and walked one.
The teams split the doubleheader after Gwinnett won the first game 6-0.
Thursday night’s game was postponed due to rain. The teams will make up the game as part of a doubleheader Coolray Field on August 25.
