Nicky Delmonico homered and had three hits as the Charlotte Knights defeated the Columbus Clippers 4-1 on Thursday.
Down 1-0 in the third, Columbus tied the game when Tyler Naquin hit a solo home run.
Charlotte answered in the bottom of the frame, scoring two runs to take the lead. Cody Asche and Rymer Liriano hit RBI singles en route to the two-run lead.
The Knights tacked on another run in the fifth when Delmonico hit a solo home run.
Charlotte right-hander Reynaldo Lopez (6-4) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on six hits over 6 2/3 innings. Opposing starter Nick Pasquale (0-1) took the loss in the International League game after allowing three runs and four hits over 3 2/3 innings. Zack Burdi recorded his seventh save of the season.
For the Clippers, Ronny Rodriguez singled three times, also stealing a base.
