Nominate military heroes for Charlotte Knights commemorative card set

The Charlotte Knights are accepting nominations for the team’s inaugural Military Heroes Baseball Card Set.

The cards will be given away to the first 1,000 fans at BB&T BallPark for the Aug. 9 game against the Rochester Red Wings. The 5:05 p.m. game has been designated as an additional military appreciation game.

Each branch of the military will be represented, and those chosen for the card set will be honored on the field before the game.

“We’re looking to honor military heroes who have served or are serving with this one-of-a-kind card set for fans,” said Knights general manager Scotty Brown in a news release. “We look forward to hearing from our fans as they nominate these important individuals who have served our country.”

Nomination forms and a digital photo of the nominee in uniform can be returned by email to community@charlotteknights.com.

Also, the Knights have designated the 7:05 p.m. July 3 match against the Gwinnett Braves as a military appreciation game.
