NASCAR releases photo of door pull shaped like noose in Bubba Wallace’s Talladega garage

NASCAR on Thursday released the photo of what it and the FBI called a noose that was hanging in driver Bubba Wallace’s garage stall at Talladega Superspeedway last weekend. NASCAR said the photo was taken by a member of its security team as part of its investigation.

An investigation by the FBI determined that the reported noose was actually the end of a garage-door pull and that it had been there since at least Oct. 2019. The investigation also determined that Wallace was not targeted for a hate crime.

NASCAR president Steve Phelps was scheduled to speak with the media at 12:30 p.m. Thursday. For a full report of his comments and NASCAR’s findings, click here.
