Rain hit the track before NASCAR at New Hampshire. Here’s the weather forecast for Loudon.

New England should largely be spared from Hurricane Isaias through the weekend, but that doesn’t mean NASCAR’s Sunday Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway will be without rain. Light showers hit the track two hours before the race’s 3 p.m. start time.

Clouds and rain moved in over Loudon the afternoon of the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 race. As of 1:30 p.m., the temperature was 77 degrees with a projected high of 84 degrees, according to AccuWeather radar. The National Weather Service projects a 40 percent chance of showers this afternoon, but the AccuWeather radar shows any rain cell moving northeast away from the track by 2:45 p.m.

The Cup series race is the only one running at the speedway Sunday, so NASCAR will not need to massively adapt its schedule if a postponement is in order, and will likely not need one at this time.

This story will be updated with the latest weather forecast. Pre-race reading for the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 can be found here.
