Global pop star Pitbull to name his next album after his favorite NASCAR race team
Pitbull has announced the name of his new album — and it pays homage to a NASCAR team that he holds close to his heart.
The album name?
“Trackhouse.”
The global pop star joined TrackHouse Racing — the race team home to fan-favorite Cup Series drivers Ross Chastain and Daniel Suárez — in a partnership with TrackHouse Entertainment Group founder Justin Marks in 2021.
“Mr. Worldwide” has since been a public supporter for the race team that has surprised everyone with its success since debuting in the 2021 Cup Series season.
“When I joined Trackhouse in 2021, I told the team, we wanted to make history,” Pitbull said in a release. “Music is the universal language and music is culture. Our mission has been to build a culture at Trackhouse. We want to share it with the world. This is just the beginning of all we are going to do together not only in racing but music and more importantly education. Want to say Justin, Ty (Norris), Daniel, Ross (Chastain) and the entire Trackhouse team it’s an honor to make history together.”
He added: “Now let’s step on the gas. Dalé!”
The project will be Pitbull’s 12th internationally distributed album. It is set to drop July 7.
TrackHouse Racing will celebrate the album drop with a co-branded primary paint scheme on its No. 99 Chevy on Sunday at Dover Motor Speedway in Delaware. That car will be driven by Suárez — the first Mexican-born driver to win a Cup race when he did so last season.
Among the team’s other efforts to expand the sport’s reach includes innovating “Project 91” — an effort to bring in some of the biggest names in motorsports around the world to specific Cup Series races, and to have them race for THR and be competitive. The team invited Formula One champion Kimi Räikkönen to compete for it at Circuit of the Americas earlier this year as a result of Project 91.
