NASCAR Sprint Cup series: Toyota Owners 400 facts
This week’s race
Toyota Owners 400
What: 400 laps, or 300 miles.
Where: Richmond (Va.) International Raceway, a three-fourths-mile paved oval.
When: 7 p.m. Saturday.
TV: Fox.
Radio: Motor Racing Network.
Last year’s winner: Joey Logano.
Also this week: ToyotaCare 250, Xfinity Series, Richmond International Raceway, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Fox Sports 1.
Worth mentioning: After a test last week, Goodyear has decided to bring a new multi-zone tread for the right sides for this weekend’s Cup race. The tire is expected to enhance grip. Teams will use the same left-side tires as last fall.
Who’s Hot/Who’s Not
HOT
Matt Kenseth: Welcome to the 2015 Chase, Matt.
Jeff Gordon: Went from two laps down to contending for the win and did it over the course of nine hours.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr.: If only every race was at Bristol (Tenn.).
Joey Logano: Led all 300 laps in winning the Xfinity race at Bristol.
Danica Patrick: Turned a frustrating day at Bristol into a ninth-place finish.
Erik Jones: With Denny Hamlin getting out of his car with neck spasms, Jones made a last-minute Cup series debut.
NOT
Austin Dillon: Was running third at Bristol and ran out of gas as NASCAR debated whether to dry the corners before a green-white-checkered Cup restart.
Kurt Busch: Strong enough to win Sunday, but a late questionable pit decision left in him in a trouble spot on the track.
Kasey Kahne: Another weekend that ended unceremoniously even though he had one of the fastest cars.
