Worth mentioning: Michigan State University football coach Mark Dantonio will serve as grand marshal for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at Michigan. Dantonio is entering his ninth season as head coach of the Spartans.

Martin Truex Jr.: There is not a more popular win in the NASCAR garage right now.

Kyle Larson: Second consecutive top-10 finish. Perhaps he has turned the corner.

Ty Dillon: Finished 18th in his third Cup race this season and even beat his older brother, Austin.

Matt Crafton: Another victory in hand as he marches to his third consecutive Truck series title.

Daniel Suarez: It seems less a question of when he will reach Victory Lane but in which series will it occur?

Trevor Bayne: It was an ARCA race, but Bayne will take any victory he can this season.

Danica Patrick: Had a good run going at Pocono then wrecked twice in the last 30 laps.

Roush Fenway Racing: Pocono was not kind to the three-car team. Best finish was Greg Biffle in 12th.
