NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Pocono: Windows 10 400 at a glance
What: 160 laps, or 400 miles.
Where: Pocono Raceway, a 2.5-mile, flat, asphalt triangle in Long Pond, Pa.
When: 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
TV: NBC Sports Network.
Radio: Motor Racing Network
Last year’s winner: Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Also this week: Pocono Mountains 150, Truck Series, Pocono Raceway, 1 p.m., Saturday, Fox Sports 1; US Cellular 250, Xfinity Series, Iowa Speedway, 8 p.m., Saturday, NBC Sports Network.
Worth mentioning: It’s back to a normal aerodynamic package for Cup cars after a high dragforce experiment at Indianapolis last weekend. That package will return at Michigan in two weeks.
Who’s Hot/Who’s Not
HOT
Kyle Busch: He has won four of nine Cup starts (and three in a row) since his return from injury. He’s closing in on a spot in the Chase. He also won Saturday’s Xfinity race at Indianapolis.
Toyota: Busch’s Cup victory was the first for the manufacturer at Indianapolis.
Kevin Harvick: Third-place finish at the Brickyard allowed him to maintain points lead.
NOT
Penske Racing: Still hasn’t won a NASCAR race at Indianapolis (has 16 Indy 500 victories).
Jeff Gordon: He was 42nd at Indianapolis, his worst performance ever at the track. Needs a win to guarantee a spot in the Chase, and it’s getting late.
Clint Bowyer: Another bad race and he is close to dropping out of the top 16 in points.
High downforce aero package: Didn’t have the desired result at Indianapolis; will try again at Michigan.
