CATS to offer bus service to Charlotte Motor Speedway races

The Charlotte Area Transit System will offer bus service from uptown to Charlotte Motor Speedway for fans attending Saturday’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race and May 29 for the Coca-Cola 600.

80X-Concord Express service will start at noon both days, with departures every 20 minutes from the Charlotte Transportation Center, 310 E. Trade St., and the NASCAR Hall of Fame, 400 E. MLK Jr. Blvd.

Buses will take riders to the races until 6 p.m. and pick them back up in the same area to return to uptown immediately after the races.

Round trip fare is $8.80 per person. Riders can pay when they board. Only exact cash fare will be accepted.

On Saturday, CATS pass sales offices at the CTC will be open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. On May 29, the offices will be open 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-6 p.m.
